Background: In view of the limited experiences of interaction between parents and children, in the current technological context, researches that go deeper in identifying the possible effects of experiences that maximize the forthcoming of the family with physical activities should be encouraged.
Goal: Analyzing the effects of a practical interaction program between parents and children in the process of acquiring aquatic skills (Ass).
Method: The study has been composed by 16 sessions of 50' each, with 17 five years old children (± 1.2), divided into EG (where the parents take part in the swimming classes) and CG (where the parents did not take part in the classes). The learning analysis of the ASs was carried out through a checklist, consisting of 18 items.
Results: After analyzing the data, it can be noticed that the EG has initially presented 79% of achievement in the evaluation report and after the program it has presented an improvement to 93%. On the other hand, the CG has initially presented 72% of achievement and after 84%. Regarding the comparison of the pre and post moments for the quantitative tasks, being: long-term effort control, reflected in the total distance swam in 5 'of continuous swimming; the total footage swam in 45' and; time of static apnea, a significant statistical difference can be identified for both groups.
Conclusions: Despite the improvement of both groups, EG has presented the most distinguished results in 3 tasks involving greater demand for complexity and motivation.
