How to achieve aquatic competence

This work proposes a new approach to aquatic education, in which the need to change and rethink the aquatic scenarios of teaching and development of aquatic competence is emphasized.
For this reason, in addition to developing the concept of "aquatic competence" and describing its evolution at the behavioral, affective and cogComo alcançar a competência aquáticaviour towards their autonomy. In this way we describe both appropriate and inappropriate behaviour as well as its consequences, using explicit and clear terms.
Students are encouraged to pursue challenging goals - but ones that are within their reach - and to regulate their behaviour. Success is considered in terms of improvement rather than comparison with others, which occurs as a result of effort, which is also formative. By learning by doing, by discovering for themselves the principles, concepts, theories and laws, for the deep understanding produced by practical, critical and creative reasoning, and for the permanent effects it can produce, this teaching method can mean a turning point for the reader committed to this work...
