Abstract

In recent decades, Spain has experienced a remarkable social and economic development, perhaps one of the most spectacular in the world, but it would not be what it is today without the contribution of foreign investment. Over the years, foreign investment has been important both quantitatively and qualitatively and has manifested itself in all economic and social areas such as internationalisation, knowledge transfer, R&D&I, increased exports, improved competitiveness, training, development and human resource management policies, etc. Spain continues to be an attractive country for foreign investment, as are its companies. Foreign investment has a local impact in terms of employment, turnover, personnel costs, gross investment in tangible assets, which gradually increases each year.
