The Front Labeling System for Prepackaged Food and Beverages in Mexico consists of implementing a legislative measure to combat overweight and obesity, an immediate purpose that is supported by the fourth paragraph, third and fourth paragraphs of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States. Therefore, it does not affect the right of equality of companies in terms of freedom of trade. Thus, this legislative measure consists of the State guaranteeing everyone the right to nutritious, sufficient and quality food, making effective the right to health protection and the right to information of the population.
