Miguel Hernández Communication Journal assumes the presidency of the Platcom Association of Communication Journals.

The journal Miguel Hernández Communication Journal (MHJournal) has assumed the presidency of the Platcom Association, succeeding the journal Index Comunicación. The transition took place during the last general assembly, marking the beginning of a new phase for the association of these diamond open access journals.

The new leadership team of Platcom is headed by Montserrat Jurado Martín, a tenured professor at UMH, who will serve as president. Montserrat Jurado Martín, editor-in-chief of Miguel Hernández Communication Journal, expressed her enthusiasm and commitment to leading the association towards new goals and strengthening communication and collaboration among its members. Supporting the president, Francisco Julián Martínez Cano has been appointed vice president. With an outstanding career in audiovisual communication and fine arts, Francisco Julián promises to bring his expertise and strategic vision to the leadership team. Joaquín Juan Penalva has been named secretary of Platcom, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth administrative functioning and transparency of all association activities.

The leadership team is further strengthened by three board members, who bring a diverse range of perspectives and experience: Alba García Ortega (Board Member 1), María Samper Cerdán (Board Member 2), and Tatiana Santos Gonçalves (Board Member 3).

This new team is committed to working together to promote excellence in research and communication practices in both academic and professional fields, aligning with the values of diamond open access journals (free to publish and free to access), which represent Europe's strategy for ensuring high-quality dissemination of scientific production.

Miguel Hernández Communication Journal, recognized for its academic rigor and contribution to the field of communication studies, is preparing to lead Platcom with a renewed and ambitious vision. Under this new management, the association aims to strengthen its networks and expand its influence.

Platcom is an association of diamond open access scientific journals in the field of communication, created with the aim of fostering and supporting the publication process while maintaining rigorous scientific standards. Through this initiative, member editors seek to contribute to the advancement of scientific publishing by implementing joint and collaborative work strategies. The association aims to highlight the work carried out by its member journals, promoting their professionalization and visibility.

Platcom is composed of the following journals: Communication Papers, Fotocinema, Index.comunicación, Mediterránea de Comunicación, Miguel Hernández Communication Journal, AdComunica, IROCAMM, Sphera Pública, Zer, and RAE-IC. The association is currently open to applications from new publications that meet the following criteria: being diamond open access journals, affiliated with public or private Spanish universities, and specializing in communication, journalism, advertising, film studies, or related fields.
