Abstract
Desde el nacimiento del cine han existido vanguardias que han ido buscando nuevas experiencias cinematográficas envolventes. Muchas no se llegaron a comercializar por su elevado coste y por no dar con un sistema adecuado de standarización. El audiovisual interactivo no es un producto nuevo, pero sí que cuenta ahora, en los inicios del siglo XXI, con los dispositivos y la evolución narrativa necesaria para poder hacer de ello una nueva forma de cine. Los ordenadores, Internet, la telefonía móvil, los videojuegos y diversos periféricos, han ido abriendo las posibilidades para crear películas interactivas. Principalmente están basadas en la posibilidad de elección que se le da al espectador sobre la trama. En las propuestas más básicas está la oportunidad con un hipervínculo, un enlace de escoger el desenlace de la historia o algunas características del personaje. Por ahora son un número muy escaso de películas interactivas realizadas principalmente por realizadores independientes de diversos países. Además, cabe citar algunos artistas experimentales que han ido desarrollando obras audiovisuales interactivas, los departamentos de investigación en varias universidades con muestras y trabajos pioneros sobre la temática y diversos colectivos con fines educativos que han ido realizando cortometrajes interactivos. Las películas interactivas han utilizado el vídeo digital, algunas de ellas se han estrenado o proyectado en festivales de cine o en eventos especiales, siendo posteriormente subidas a Internet o comercializadas en DVD. Algunas también son exclusivas para internet, siendo albergadas en la propia web de la película. A partir de 2010 ya han ido apareciendo un incipiente número de películas interactivas, algunas de ellas estrenadas en salas de cine. Mostrando sorprendentes innovaciones e infinitas posibilidades.
