Introduction to Theoretical Foundations for Educommunication in University Radio
Main Article Content
Abstract
Educommunication can be understood as a discipline that bridges two traditionally distinct fields—Education and Communication—but which are intrinsically and inevitably intertwined: to educate is to communicate, and communication can, intentionally or not, be educational. University radio emerges as both a tool for student training in higher education institutions and a means of engaging with the surrounding society.
Within this context, radio—a medium that is both accessible and familiar to listeners—proves especially well-suited for educommunication, not only for students but also for other groups within the university's broader community. This article aims to compile, through a literature review, key arguments put forward by theorists and researchers that link education and communication, and to position university radio as an ideal space for working with both in an integrated manner.
