Abstract
Since their inception and throughout nearly seventy years of existence, video games have evolved in an exponential and unstoppable way. What began as a rudimentary, computerised version of traditional games—accessible only through large-scale machines—has transformed into countless playful forms that heavily leverage the latest technological advances and incorporate narrative strategies typical of cinematic fiction, all within small devices that can even fit in a pocket.
