The situation of global health pandemic that we are currently experiencing and the measures taken to alleviate it, such as home confinement, are situations that, due to their extraordinary nature, are likely to cause a psychological impact on people, especially if they are more vulnerable to suffering from a mental health disorder, as in the case of Eating Disorders. Consequently, the objective of this work is to study how this home confinement can affect people with this diagnosis, and if it affects them differently from the general population. To this end, during this period an online questionnaire was administered to two population samples, both made up of 50 women, 100 participants in total. The clinical population sample, composed of patients diagnosed with TCA, has a mean age of 29.08 (SD=7.86) and the general population sample has a mean of 31.60 (DT=7.63). The questionnaire includes socioeconomic, emotional and psychological variables, and a self-compassion questionnaire (SCS). The results have shown a significantly worse coping with stressors by the people diagnosed with eating disorders compared to the control group, although not a significant increase in psychological symptoms. Likewise, two variables have been very relevant in order to improve the experience of future lockdowns, coexistence and self-compassion.
