Abstract

Introduction: Obesity presents a constantly growing prevalence emphasizing the need to act with responsibility and social awareness. The Internet has transformed the role of the user, giving them an active role in managing their health and highlighting the importance of accessing to quality content. Objectives: The main objective was to study the quality and positioning of Web pages linked to the psychology of obesity and associated subtopics. Methodology: Web resource searches were performed in Google Chrome® using keywords. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 99 resources were included in the study. PageRank positioning and quality of the information were analyzed using the DISCERN test. Results: The positioning of the resources was medium, and the quality was moderate. Most resources did not consider psychology in the therapeutic approach. Conclusions: The analyzed resources reveal that the user has moderately well-positioned pages with content of acceptable quality but insufficient in terms of addressing the pathology. It is urgent to increase the visibility of psychology in the approach of this condition.
