Barreras, intención y actividad física: análisis de clases latentes en mujeres chilenas

Abstract

Marco Teórico: Un porcentaje importante de adultos en Chile no cumple con las recomendaciones de actividad física (AF), siendo la inactividad más prevalente en mujeres. El objetivo de este estudio fue explorar patrones de barreras de actividad física (PBAF) en mujeres chilenas y examinar el rol mediador de la intención conductual en la relación entre estos patrones y la práctica de AF. Método: La muestra estuvo compuesta por 381 mujeres chilenas (M edad = 33.14 años), seleccionadas por medio de un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Las hipótesis se evaluaron con análisis de clases latentes y modelos de mediación. Resultados: Se identificaron tres PBAF: “Barreras marcadas” (44.69%), “Barreras de trabajo y energía” (40.65%) y “Pocas barreras” (14.66%). En comparación con el patrón de “Barreras marcadas”, pertenecer a los otros dos patrones se asoció con una mayor intención conductual, la cual medió significativamente su relación con la frecuencia de AF semanal. Conclusiones: Los hallazgos dan cuenta de la heterogeneidad en la percepción de barreras de AF en mujeres de Chile, así como del papel de la intención conductual en el vínculo de los PBAF con la AF. Se requieren intervenciones en diferentes niveles para el manejo de los PBAF.
