About the Journal
ReCIA - Journal of the Arts Research Centre of Altea is a biannual, electronic, open access (OJS), international, scientific journal, with a blind peer review system.
It is the journal of the CÍA – Altea Arts Research Centre of the Miguel Hernández University, and therefore a tool to disseminate and amplify contemporary research in the arts. It arises from the assembly of the 5 research laboratories of the CÍA, hence its interdisciplinary and integrated vocation where perspectives and skills are combined, but also multidisciplinary, where they work together, but each one from the approach of their area of expertise.
ReCIA is a space open to researchers, professionals, and students with an interest or specialization in arts research fields.
ACCEPTED FORMATS
Following the standards of scientific journals in our field and related ones, but also with the formal specificity of research in the arts, each monograph will be open to receive: articles, visual essays, projects, interviews and reviews (editorial, exhibition, musical, scenic, and cinematographic), according to the described criteria.
Artistic research is a multiform and variable - and sometimes abrupt - topography that makes it possible to: (a) to generate a discourse (through text and form - however minimal its materialization through the text itself and its arrangement or enunciation); (b) to experiment on discourse, on form, on space, on materials, on techniques and/or on discipline(s); (c) personal expression - from autoethnography; (d) to generate an art-education and/or awareness-raising tool (in the field of pedagogies). This in turn allows for several plausible grips: art research, research for art, art research, and research through art; from which various possible formulations derive. (Tatiana Sentamans, 2023:27)
STRUCTURE
Each issue is divided into two blocks of content:
- Monographic: edited by one or more people invited by the coordination of the CÍA's Research Laboratories on a rotating basis, with a high level of specialization in their corresponding line of research. This will deal with their topics or areas of interest and constitute the thematic priority of their call for papers for the different possible types of contributions. This block will account for 70-80 % of the paper's number.
- Assemblage: transversal to the five CIA Research Laboratories, which, based on the correlation we propose between the multidisciplinary and Deleuze's theory (‘In its most basic form, assemblages could be considered as a collection of relations between heterogeneous entities that work together for some time’, (Gilles Deleuze and Claire Parnet 1987, 69 [1977]), we have called ASSEMBLAGE. This space will be open each issue to the reception of articles, visual essays and projects related to the five priority lines of research of the CÍA of the UMH that exceed the thematic specificity of the call for papers. This block will account for between 20-30% of the issue.
