This review analyses the book Fundamentos de didáctica para la formación del profesorado by Juan Antonio Moreno Murcia, a manual aimed at initial and continuing teacher education within the context of 21st-century education. The book offers an integrative view of didactics that brings together conceptual foundations, methodological development, and applied guidelines for classroom intervention. Throughout its chapters, the work addresses key issues such as the definition and evolution of didactics, curriculum design, teaching methods, instructional intervention, educational resources, and learning assessment, while also incorporating active methodologies and student-centred approaches. The critical evaluation highlights the internal coherence of the text, its clarity of exposition, and its educational value, while also pointing out certain limitations related to the limited explicit use of theoretical references throughout the body of the work and the less developed treatment of more specialised debates. Overall, the book stands as a relevant contribution to teacher education and as a useful resource for university teaching and teachers’ professional development.
