Abstract
The decarbonisation of maritime transport requires urgent solutions that combine environmental sustainability with economic viability. This article explores new pathways for the electrification of recreational vessels through the use of high-durability LiFePO4 energy storage technologies and presents an innovative R&D&I approach: the direct reuse of electric vehicle (EV) battery packs with minimal industrial remanufacturing. This “minimal-intervention” strategy promises to reduce both costs and carbon footprint, thereby accelerating the transition towards a more efficient blue economy.
