Análisis del impacto en funcionalidad y calidad de vida de los pacientes diagnosticados de cáncer colorrectal

Marco teórico: El cáncer colorrectal es uno de los tumores más frecuentes. El impacto en la funcionalidad y calidad de vida de estos pacientes es enorme. Sin embargo, el impacto emocional no ha sido tan analizado. La prehabilitación puede contribuir a tratar esta gran repercusión. El objetivo de nuestro estudio ha sido cuantificar el impacto en la funcionalidad y calidad de vida de los pacientes diagnosticados de cáncer colorrectal
Material y método: Estudio observacional de corte transversal de todos los pacientes diagnosticados de cáncer colorrectal y que van a ser sometidos a cirugía en un hospital de tercer nivel a lo largo de un año natural.
Resultados: Se incluyeron un total de 127 pacientes, el 68,5% fueron varones. El estadiaje tumoral más frecuente según la clasificación de la AJCC fue el IIIB. En cuanto a la calidad de vida medida por el SF-12, se obtuvo una puntuación de 48,18 en el SF-12 MCS y de 51,79 en el SF-12 PCS. Respecto a la funcionalidad, se observó una media de 464,54 en el 6MWT, 9,20 en el TUG y 52,27 en la PIM. Se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre el 6MWT y el estadiaje (p<0,05)
Conclusión: Los pacientes afectos de cáncer colorrectal experimentan un gran impacto en la funcionalidad y la calidad de vida que requieren de un abordaje multidisciplinar que incluya la prehabilitación con objeto de conseguir paliar estos efectos, disminuyendo los costes y la mortalidad de esta patología.
