La realidad virtual como espacio de memoria: afrofuturismo e identidad racial en The Changing Same (2021).

Resumen
La necesidad de autorrepresentación de la comunidad afroamericana ha encontrado en la realidad virtual un nuevo territorio narrativo. Este artículo analiza cómo The Changing Same: The Dilemma (Stephenson, Brewster y Elayat, 2021) articula esa necesidad desde los parámetros del afrofuturismo gracias a una narrativa atemporal de la negritud que cambia el tiempo cronológico por el tiempo metafórico. Mediante el análisis fílmico, se examina cómo la experiencia superpone pasado, presente y futuro para conectar contextos modernos de hipervigilancia policial y encarcelamiento masivo con la esclavitud, activando en el usuario un ejercicio de toma de perspectiva. La figura de Harriet, encarnación del futuro, y el dilema moral planteado por Lamar funcionan como ejes narrativos que interpelan directamente al usuario, convirtiéndolo en sujeto interpretativo de la historia. La experiencia busca dar valor a historias silenciadas mientras reimagina desde una perspectiva negra contemporánea con el fin de construir una identidad colectiva libre de las fracturas del pasado racial.
