Abstract
La investigación, junto con la docencia, es el motor de las universidades. Es importante obtener buenos resultados, pero también difundirlos. Por este motivo, las universidades españolas ponen en marcha revistas divulgativas que trasladan al público la investigación que se lleva a cabo en la propia institución. Este conjunto de publicaciones, que suponen el primer eslabón de comunicación de la ciencia, son una muestra de estudio idónea para analizar las principales características de la divulgación científica española. El principal objetivo del trabajo es establecer la situación actual de este tipo de divulgación científica realizada en las universidades españolas. Desde la universidad es posible difundir ciencia, por la accesibilidad a las fuentes y por la cantidad de materia prima que se elabora en estas instituciones. Mediante métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos, se examina en primer lugar la existencia de publicaciones de divulgación universitaria y, en segundo lugar, el formato, las temáticas, las fuentes y la periodicidad de dichas revistas. Además, se analiza en profundidad el uso de las fuentes y la preponderancia de los temas en las diferentes revistas. Finalmente, se proponen algunas mejoras que ayudarían a mejorar la tarea de divulgación que realizan estas publicaciones.
