Living Labs as agents of city brand communication
Main Article Content
Abstract
Contemporary cities have been shaped as spaces in which individual lifestyles have been generated, their spaces, the design of their neighbourhoods, their housing in large urbanisations have led to such lifestyles that do not favour social connections and interactions. So much so, that we could ask ourselves what spaces of socialisation we find in the large? What spaces for meeting and socialising, beyond the public square, in which to have the means for citizen dynamisation and action, providing it with the capacity to transform?
The living labs are presented as an opportunity to respond to the above-mentioned demands of contemporary cities which, in their interaction with technologies, generate new spaces for urban communication, both for the journalism professionals themselves in their need to learn and put into practice the new journalistic narratives -such as data journalism-, as well as for the professionals themselves in their need to learn and put into practice the new journalistic narratives -such as data journalism-.
data journalism - as well as for citizens themselves to become literate in these new languages.
If we start from the idea that a living lab is a user-centred experimentation environment, in a process of co-creation between user and producers, allowing for the discovery of new realities and concepts, emerging uses, behaviours and needs of the user in the environment in which they interact, also enabling a process of evaluation of this experience, we can affirm that it is presented as an opportunity for innovation and dynamisation of cities as communication spaces, also becoming a tool for the creation of a city brand.
Based on these approaches and focuses, we will carry out our research, taking as our main reference the lines of work and research of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL) (https://enoll.org), the international federation that brings together the best Living Labs in Europe and the world.
