Abstract

Background: Aquatic practices in school physical education allow boys, girls and adolescents to experience and enjoy, together with others, diverse and wide possibilities of movement in a different environment than usual. That is why it is considered necessary to investigate the Argentine educational system, with the intention of looking for proposals and regulations that promote teaching in the aquatic environment.

Goals: Identify the normative and curricular frameworks in Argentina that regulate the teaching of school aquatic activities, and contribute to the implementation of proposals in the aquatic environment, based on the construction of didactic guidelines.

Method: A bibliographic review of different documents and studies from Argentina has been carried out in search of antecedents and information on school aquatic practices in Secondary Education.

Results: Articles and documents that present antecedents of studies related to school aquatic practices in Argentina were analyzed, as well as an analysis of official documents at the jurisdictional level, linked to the teaching of aquatic activities in school physical education in Argentina. Finally, a practical intervention proposal is developed focused on didactic guidelines that may be useful for the development of different proposals that promote meaningful learning in the aquatic environment.

Conclusions: The value of teaching aquatic practices is highlighted, so that it is promoted from the State within the educational system in Argentina, and the leading place of the school and physical education teachers is weighed. The scope of this study is significant when analyzing twenty-two of the twenty-four jurisdictions of the national territory, and identifying that eighteen of them propose contents related to aquatic practices in the area of ​​physical education.
